Latonya received several scholarships to attend college and thus her college career began in New Orleans, Louisiana, where she was dual-enrolled at Tulane University in the AFROTC program, as well as attending Xavier University.  When her parents relocated to Florida, Latonya transferred to the University of Central Florida where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies with minors in both Biology and Sociology. 

After graduation, she was employed as an environmental chemist/project manager for several prestigious environmental companies located on both the east and west coast of the United States.  After the birth of her son, Latonya volunteered at her mother-in-law's daycare where she later realized her true love of children and thus decided to pursue a career in early childhood education and care. 

As a result, Latonya has dedicated the past 12 years to working for various daycare facilities in the capacity of teacher, team lead and assistant director.  Latonya current has her Director Credential, National CDA, DCF 45 hours and is certified in CPR and First Aid. 

Among many things, such as being active in her church and community by giving her time and resources, Latonya is very family-oriented enjoying spending quality time with her family and friends.  She is also an avid basketball and football fan.
