Rotary brings together a global network of volunteer leaders who dedicate their time and talent to tackle the world’s most pressing humanitarian challenges. Rotary connects 1.2 million members from more than 200 countries and geographical areas. Their work impacts lives at both the local and international levels.

Welbourne Nursery & Preschool has served Winter Park faithfully since 1927 when it was established on the city’s Westside. John Rivers, the founder and CEO of 4-Rivers Restaurant Group, was the guest reader for the children at Welbourne Nursery & Preschool in Winter Park!
Discussing his own community service plans, Mr Rivers said, “we’re going to build something in Orlando that doesn’t exist anywhere else in the country,”
He was talking about the farm, called 4 Roots Campus, a 40-acre working-farm near John Young Parkway and Princeton Street. Mr. Rivers said it will tackle the community’s food insecurity problems. “We’re going after the broken food system and, specifically, you have so many people in Orange County living with food insecurity,” Rivers said. “In Orange County Public Schools today, you have one in every five students that doesn’t know where their next meal is going to come from.”
While on-campus, Welbourne volunteer Miss Jamie Binkley and her team introduced Mr. Rivers to Welbourne Nursery’s Kinder-Gardener program – where its students garden one day each week, planting, attending, harvesting, and then eating fresh vegetables grown in Welbourne’s own garden.
Welbourne Nursery, now serving Winter Park for 93 years, is one of the community’s oldest and most robust not-for-profit organizations!

Hands-On-Orlando volunteers serve at Welbourne Nursery & Preschool

Hands-On-Orlando plans, manages and leads volunteer and corporate team building projects. They help the homeless and hungry, children, at-risk families, seniors, veterans, women, the environment, animals and so much more.

Hands-On-Orlando has served with more than 200,000 volunteers. They have helped over 300 non-profits like Welbourne, public schools and parks and more than one million people across Central Florida.

Welbourne is open five-days from 7:00AM until 6:00PM, serves 750 meals per week to its children, provides free dental care, optometric care, kindness/family counseling, and Nemours Telemedicine.

Welbourne Nursery & Preschool was established in 1927 in Winter Park, to support the city’s working families. Today, Welbourne serves about 60 children per day, preparing them lovingly for the road ahead!

Welbourne Nursery & Preschool served Thanksgiving lunch today for the 92 nd consecutive year. This year, 59 children, most of their families, and the staff – enjoyed a thankful lunch together.

This loving oasis located in the heart of the city, serves Winter Park’s families with a 360° professional program of care – accompanied by a strategic curriculum, specifically designed for children at life’s beginning – all tailored to produce confident, competent, and socially interactive children!

Just to review a bit of history, Welbourne Nursery was established in 1927, is a not-for-profit community resource, and provides generous tuition assistance for families in need.
